But Lucas is haunted by demons, both personal and supernatural. Bianca must help him fight the evil inside him, combat the forces determined to drive them apart—and find the power to claim her destiny at last.
Readers have fallen in love with Bianca and Lucas, and they will be thrilled to read this exciting conclusion to their romantic adventure...
My Thoughts
With this final installment of the Evernight series, I expected so much from Afterlife so I really really hoped the ending would be to my liking. Escpecially, seeing how the events in Hourglass had left me hanging. With Bianca being a WRAITH and VAMPIRE it was pretty hard to figure how everything would work out.
As soon as I started reading Afterlife I was instantly absorbed into book. Time was ticking away as Balthazar and Bianca were awaiting for the sun to set as that was the time Lucas would fully awaken. When Lucas came into being, there was struggle. I was reaaaallly shocked. It was scary the way Lucas was acting. He was so not himself so there was a lot of action there.
New decisions, ideas and thoughts have to be taken now. Lucas faces his mother not knowing whether she will accept him the way he is. A lot of breathtaking drama and fierce action passes by with many choices yet to make. I don't want to give anything away but Lucas's mum is a right little meanie! I have definetly grown to dislike her. A lot.
Lucas and Bianca are forced to then seek refuge to an enemy. I really did not expect this one coming. It was very strange and funny I have to admit though. Seeing as another side was portaryed of the enemy. Living under thier roof they fight they way around trying to live their life and uncover the most deadliest of secrets.
I really enjoyed the way the whole story was going. Personally, I didn't really like the ending I wanted a few adjustments. Thought, it was a fantastic finish to the series. Remarkable!
I'm sorry, I've not read any of this series, so I'm not going to read this quite yet. Just wanted to let you know I saw your post though.

I love the Evernight Series but for some reason, I've yet to read this book. I guess I've been kind of scared for it all to end, ha! I just love these characters so much and I can tell you do, too! Amazing review :D
ReplyDeleteI have the first three books in this series. I need to get book 4!
ReplyDeleteI've read all the Evernight series but I must say that Evernight and Stargazer are my favorite!! I was so mad when I finish Hourglass and realize what happend to Bianca and Lucas! I was like "NOOOOOO" lol! I love happy endings! T.T And then Afterlife!! I like the beginning reading the story about Mrs Bethany.
ReplyDeleteAnd like you the ending of this last book was like bittersweet. I was expecting some other things!
Agreed: the ending needed a bit more work. As much as I liked this series, I felt like Claudia Gray tried to force it too much or go too fast. It reminds me (vaguely) of Vampire Academy with the whole turning-vampires-back twist, but I prefer Richelle Mead's version. Sadly, I kind of pretend Evernight is just 2 books instead of 4. Love Balthazar, though, and can't wait for his starring novel.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these books I may have to look into them.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this series! I've heard amazing reviews on the last book, but to get to the last book, sadly I have to read the first few xD
