To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her new found powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments
My Thoughts
The Mortal Instruments series is now one of my favourite series. I loved reading all the books. Though, so far City of Glass is by far the best. Clare is a great story teller. She really knows how to capture our attention, through all the action, romance and destruction. Some things were quite predictable but it didn't really matter. There were many things that left me intrigued and surprised.

City of Glass picks up where City of Ashes left off. Clary's mother is still in a coma and it's up to Clary to save her as she's the only one who knows how to. She then has to go to Idris. We've heard alot about Idris but not exactly experienced it properly so it was great to finally step inside the city. So many events then lead on from there entangled with so much fierceness. It's really awesome.

I love all the characters. I am now really attached to them. They are just so well written and so hard to dislike. Clary is continues to be a great heroine. Jace is still hot and annoying. And all the characters are just so awesome!

I savoured each word of the book. I didn't want it to end yet I wanted to desperately know how it would end. And when I did, I was not disappointed. I was more than happy. Everything ended how I always hoped it would. I just love this series. Thank God Clare decided to continue the series with City of Fallen Angels!

  2. Jace is absurdly hot, but i think he wouldn't be as hot if he weren't infuriatingly annoying. They're somehow tied together. Don't forget to go read Jace's perspective of the manor makout. It's...um, good. Really good. ;) Can't wait for your review of COFA.

  8. City of Glass was my favourite as well - perfect amount of action and romance, and I loved the ending! I was a bit upset when it was announced there would be three more books in the series, but I've read CoFA and it was pretty good, so looking forward to it now. Glad you enjoyed this and I hope you like CoFA too! Great review :).

  19. City of Glass has got to be the most EPIC book of the series. I just love Cassie Clare after reading City of Bones and by far this is her most brilliant book ever... not including the TID series but yeah... she is one author that I would definitely buy all of her books!
