Fans of the Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduce in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits.

In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephanie Meyer, tell the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

Bree Tanner can barely remember her life before she had uncannily powerful senses, superhuman reflexes and unstoppable physical strength. Life before she had relentless thirst for blood... life before she became a vampire.

All that Bree knows is that living with her fellow newborns has few certainties and even fewer rules: watch your back, don't draw attentions to yourself and, above all, make it home before the sunrise or die. What she doesn't know is:her time as an immortal is quickly running out.

Then Bree finds an unexpected friend in Diego, a newborn just as curious as Bree about their mysterious creator, whom they know only as "her". As they came to realize that the newborns are pawns in a game larger that anything they could have imagined, Bree and Diego must choose sides and decide whom to trust. But when anything you know about vampires based on a lie, how do you find the truth?

My Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading the Twilight Saga, so I was more than pleasant to hear that Stephanie Meyer was realising a new book on the series, this one not about Bella but about Bree, one character from the Eclipse book, in case you didn't read it.
The "Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" didn't exactly lived up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book but sometimes it seemed more as a character study and a way Stephanie Meyer used to understand the life of a vampire in his first months after the changing than an actual book.
Bree character was well developed and I could sense that she had a stronger personality than Bella, and I really enjoyed reading about her.
I noticed that Stephanie Meyer stood out of her comfort zone and get a little bit more edgy with the action scenes but there could be more.
Now, the plot of the book is addictive, I didn't stop turning pages until I reached the end.
One thing that I really enjoyed was that with Bree's story, we learn how the non vegetarian new-born vampires really are and how they struggle with their thirst.

So, beside the few downsides that I mentioned it's a worth reading book.
I hope you enjoy it!
