Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

My Thoughts
As soon as I started reading Evermore, I knew that it was my type of book. It had everything I expected... vampires, romance and a hot guy :) The whole idea of vampires not really being vampires but Immortals, was very much intriguing.

Ever seems like a great character even though half the time she's hidden under her hood with earphones giving her this Gothic outlook. Her Friends Haven and Miles have bright personalities, by which they enlighten the book too.

I LOVE Damen. By Alyson's vivid description with her writing of such elegance, she portrays him as a very nice and good looking guy. (Don't all the good guys have to be. Excluding Jane's lover in Jane Eyre though ;). It is very obvious he has a 'thing' for Ever. Especially since he sends his love through a red tulip.

It's really funny how Damen gives a white rosebud to Stacia (enemy!) and Ever feels extremely jealous. Then, she discovers that a white rosebud signifies someone who doesn't understand love. Very amusing.

Love plays as a dominating theme in Evermore as Damen and Ever battle in love. Ever doesn't understand love at first however, by time she realises what it means to fall in love and the many trials that come.

I loved reading Evermore although the ending was a bit off- for me anyways. I think kinda because it was a bit too JK Rowling? I was very surprised when I found out there was second book- Blue Moon. But I can't to see what happens next!

  1. I've had this series on my Kindle like forever. The reviews I've read go right through from one end of the scale to the other and so far I'm just not had that urge to read it. Do you think you'll continue with the series?

  2. @TheSlowestBookworm I've read the entire series and I'm now just waiting for the last book (Everlasting) to come out. After Shadowland, the third book I wasn't too keen on continuing as it did drag on quite a bit to the extent that it got very frustrating. I may as well stick reading them seeing as I only got the last one left.

  4. I've only read the first two books in this series. I loved Evermore but the rest felt flat. I think it was because Riley wasn't there. I loved the interaction between Riley and Ever in this book. Of course, Damon was pretty cool too.

  8. I really liked this book when I read it. I think I'll have to re-read it sometime soon before I dive into the next book. I hate how I haven't been able to read 'Blue Moon' yet. T_T

Great review. Glad you liked it as well. :) Happy reading!

  11. I didn't like this book at all. Way too many Twilight references.

  12. Evermore isn't definitely my kind of book. There is too much cliché and absurdities for me. But if you like it, I hope that you will enjoy all book in this series. :)

  15. I just read this book a week ago and I can say that it's a love story that I adore. I can't wait to read the second novel, but the house publishing from my country is moving very slow so I just have to wait.

  16. I was really interested in this book while reading it, but I was kind of exhausted by the end. I wanted it to be just one book so I haven't read any of the sequels. I may go back to it one day, but I have many more books in front of it on the read list.

  19. Since I first saw the cover of this book in a bookstore, I've wanted to read this series, but I never really knew what it was about. But based on your review, I will definitely love it! Vampires, a sexy male character, and a love story--I can't wait to read this and see the author's interpretation of these elements.
