The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.  But nothing comes without a price.  Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. Not to mention that he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other one.  When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.  Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Thoughts
This is one ah-mazing book! It is another awesome addition to The Mortal Instruments series. It was everything I was hoping for and so much more. I loved how everything ended off in City of Glass and what can I say? I was not disappointed. The stakes are definitely raised compared to the other books.

It was great getting back into the world of the shadowhunters and getting to see all our favourite characters. Especially Simon. I never really gave much thought to him but he’s mentioned quite more and I ended becoming very attached to him seeing as Jace was kinda really off in this book.

Jace was really frustrating! I love him but I so did not not like how he kept blowing off Clary. But then you find out he has some serious issues. Poor Jace. I must say though, there were quite a few moments of romance between. Hot Kissing. Seriously. Not that I’m complaining.

Clare has written City of Fallen Angels to perfection! She has me adoring this series and obviously,  loving this book too. However, I have to say  how much I hate that we need to wait ages to read the next one! It doesn't help either that there’s a killer cliffhanger! City of Lost Souls, I NEED YOU!

  2. Oh, my gosh!! I'm reading this book right now, like I just put it down for a few moments (will no doubt be going back soon, I imagine I will right after I write this comment). I'm right at the end. And this one is my favorite so far! I can't believe how amazingly good it is. This is what I like to call "delicious reading".

  18. I love this book! And I know! I can't believe we have to wait so long for the next book, especially with that cliffhanger! I always love Jace. And it's so awesome to see glimpses of Magnus and Alec!

  19. It's hard to decide which is better --seeing as Clare's now moved on almost to a completely different story line-- which is better. I can safely say those who are fans of Jace and Clary will not be dissapointed. The romance gets a TON better. I think the story in the first 3 was solid, and this feels a bit like a "third" wheel. Although, I think it fit in the best it could. I'm just hoping the last two books (which names have been released: City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire) will result in tying them all together so it feels more like one story.
