Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.
As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?
My Thoughts
This is now one of my FAVOURITE books! I COMPLETELY LOVED IT!
From the very first page, Stephenie kept me completely engaged in a world revolving around romance, humour and suspense.
St.Claire or more preferable Etienne is so very down-to-earth! The way he is described simply shows complete hotness. I really love the relationship he and Anna have, especially with all the teasing. It is soooo obvious that they LOVE each other and Etienne is too blind to see through it.
The one thing I really loved was how their love grew by time. It was not the usual love at first sight idea, though Anna couldn't take her eyes off him when she first met him. They had their share of moments and each and every one is something to saviour.
This love story is definitely one of a kind. It's not overdone and it so does not drag on. It's very realistic and all the characters have something special about them. Their personalities come through perfectly and that gives the story more of a spark.
I absolutely loved reading Anna and the French Kiss. It just so frickin awesome! I am really really looking forward to reading more books by Stephenie Perkins! And yes, I CAN'T WAIT to read Lola and the boy next door! :D
Everybody seems to LOVE this book. I initially ignored it because of the silly title, but I guess I have to get over that :) Thanks for the great review!

Anna and the French Kiss was awesome! Although Lola and the Boy-Next-Door is coming out I still think of this book as a standalone :D

This immediately went on to my favourites list as well (which never happens because I always wait to make sure I still love it). So glad you loved this one too :)
ReplyDeleteI want to read this book soooo badly! Everyone has absolute loved it. I haven't read any negative reviews! Glad you liked it. :)

ReplyDeleteI already have this! Though I haven't read it yet (Because of Passion by Lauren Kate) I think this will be a good read! I like stories that are realistic and the way you review it, I think I'll enjoy it very much!
ReplyDeleteNote: I too, can't wait for Lola and the boy next door! (even though the love interest's name is Cricket :D)
Sadly, I haven't managed to get my hands on a copy of this book but I've only heard great things about it and your review has further motivated me to not wait too long before picking up a copy. Great review!

I've been dying to read Anna and the French Kiss and your review highlights exactly why. I haven't read a good book just focusing on romance, outside of the paranormal in so long. Etienne sounds fantastic, Anna sounds interesting, and just... everything sounds so magical, as corny as that may sound. Definitely checking this out soon.
ReplyDeleteGosh!I'm seeing great reviews about Anna and the French Kiss everywhere!sadly I haven't read it yet:(I've goota get a copy soon.Great review!

My book is arriving this week (hope so...) and after reading your review I can't wait any longer! All the reviews about this book are awesome... Hopefully I will like it as much as everybody else, hehe.
ReplyDeleteAlaiel
I ADORED this book! Stephenie really knows how to write one hell of a book. After reading this I had a sudden urge to pack my bags and buy a one way ticket to France! Etienne was also a plus :)
ReplyDeleteI am dying to get my hands on this book, I've head so many good reviews about it!
ReplyDeleteEmma
Thank you for the review, I am glad that you like the book. My copy is on the way to me, I was waiting for paperback release. Can't wait to read it. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review. I like that Etienne is short))) Almost in any other book main hero is tall (defenetly taller than heroine). It was very cute that he was the same high as Anna
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with you :) i picked up this book because it had such a great reviews on goodreads that i had to create my own opinion... and what an enjoyable read it turned out to be! i loved how funny this book was, the characters - but i was a little bit mad at Etienne through second half of the book - when we really think about it, his behaviour towards Ellie was awful - i know they werent a match but still....
ReplyDeleteLove the Paris theme and the look of this book!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about this book. Not exactly what I read, but I might look into it. Great review :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the chance to read Anna yet, though when it first came out there was so much good stuff being said of it, and now that Lola is coming out, I cannot wait to read this one.
ReplyDeleteI love that you describe the characters as real, and down-to-earth. I really enjoy reading books like this after a book with wolves or vamps, it puts a nice balance to things, and your review makes me think that this book would be perfect!
Thanks :)
Ihave heard so so much about this series. and really want to read it.
ReplyDeleteanother great review :)
I'm glad to hear this isn't a love at first sight situation. That was one of the worrying factors that kept me from checking this book out. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI just started reading this book and I just can't put it down! It is SO good!!

This book has been on my TBR list since Christmas! I really need to move it up in the pile. I just keep getting distracted and there is a companion novel due out soon as well. I really need to read this one!
ReplyDeleteI adore Anna and the French Kiss and you are so right! Etienne is hotness.. But he's also really vulnerable and I like that!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how many good reviews this book is getting. I must read it. Glad you loved it.
ReplyDeleteAhh! This book! I want to re-read it soon! I looooove it. This is a fangirl comment. I'm sorry about that. I liked how the characters were so realistic!
ReplyDeleteI still have to read this -.- but i cant find it anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI loved this book too! And I also CAN'T WAIT to read Lola and the boy next door! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you for the review.
Another book I want. But as many others, it's not in my country and it's too expensive to buy it online :( But it sounds awesome. :):)
