Describe Saving June is one sentence.

What is your favourite scene in Saving June?
This is a hard question! But one scene that always sticks out to me is Harper and Jake dancing in the jazz club. It's sort of the turning point where Harper begins to see him as who he really is, and vice versa, and there's some sexual tension and playful banter going on there. I just really enjoyed writing that scene, and how it's the first time we really see Harper enjoying herself and being in the moment.
If Saving June was to be produced into a movie, what actors and actresses would you like to play the lead roles?
I always pictured Johnny Pacar as Jake. I could see someone like Kat Dennings as Harper and Amanda Seyfriend as Laney.
What can we expect from you next?
My next book, SPEECHLESS, will be published by Harlequin Teen at the end of August. It's the story of a girl named Chelsea Knot, who takes a voluntary oath of silence after her gossip-mongering ways get her in big trouble.

Johnny Pacar as Jake? OMG. I could not have agreed more! So swoonworthy! I could totally picture him fitting the role and just being Jake! Now, you guys should so have this image in your head WHEN you go to read the book! Go quick. Go! And I'm so glad to know Hannah has another book in store for us, Speechless! Damn. I cannot wait to read it!!

I've started to have dreams while I'm awake. I remember music I've never heard ... I've got all this extra stuff in my head, but I'm forgetting things from my own life. I feel like I'm being taken over.
Cassie Farrier has always suffered from terrifying nightmares. On a trip to Germany she recognises scenes from her dreams and finds evidence of a sixty year-old massacre. Fearing for her sanity, her family sends Cassie to a retreat where she meets others with symptoms like her own and finds out that she has lived a number of past lives.
However, the Doctor at the retreat is not what she seems. Cassie and the boy she comes to love must escape the Doctor’s influence but can they also escape the misery of their shared past?

Angel’s fury is a chilling paranormal psychological thriller romance … it is not easy to classify, but it is unique, gripping and appears to be appealing to both genders and all ages, which is wonderful.
What inspired you to write Angel's Fury?
I’ve always suffered from nightmares, so I guess it makes sense that my first leading lady would suffer from nightmares too.
But Angel’s Fury was very much inspired by a visit to the rock of Gibraltar where I had a strange experience.
Many of my nightmares have the same scenery, a town square, white houses and a clock in the middle. I have no conscious memory of ever having seen such a place and thought I had just made it up somehow.
Then I went to Gibraltar.
I had lived there as a child (we left when I was seven or eight) and I thought it would be nice to revisit. While I was climbing the Rock I mentioned to the guide that I’d once lived on the RAF base and he pointed behind me and said something like ‘oh, you’ll have lived there then.’ I turned around and there it was – the scenery from my dreams. It was like being smacked between the eyes! I had no memory of that white square but I had retained that memory so clearly in my subconscious that it was being recycled nightly.
That experience really stayed with me and I knew I wanted to make a story out of it.
The scenes when Cassie goes to Germany and recognises scenes from her dreams, are very much inspired by that moment.
I love all the characters! Who's your favourite and why?
Cassie has to be my favourite character, she’s so complex and has lived with me for so long, it was amazing to write her story and bring her through her trials to see her grow and develop as a person and come out the other side.
But I do have to admit a fondness for Pandra – gorgeous, sociopathic, devil-may-care – she was a lot of fun to write.
In Angel's Fury, Cassie speaks German naturally. Why German?
When I realised that Cassie had been reincarnated I asked myself when in history her previous life must have been. For the purposes of the story it had to be the most horrifying historical period I could come up with. There were a number of contenders, but the holocaust of World War II was the obvious answer. Cassie speaks German because in her previous life she lived in Germany in the lead up to the war.
The fact that my in-laws both speak Germany and were able to translate sentences for me was a help too.
Summer is finally here, what books are in your reading pile?
I have a huge reading pile. I’m taking part in the Bookette’s debut author reading challenge, so I have Miriam Halahmy’s Hidden and Caragh O Brien’s Birthmarked to read. I’m also waiting with bated breath for Sara Grant’s Dark Parties, Paula Rawsthorne’s The Truth About Celia Frost, Lauren DeStefano’s Wither and Kate Harrison’s Soul Beach. I also want to read the new Iain M Banks, Gillian Philip’s The Opposite of Amber and I’m very excited about the sequel to Firebrand, Bloodstone also written by Gillian Philip, which should be out in time for my holiday.

Describe Here Lies Bridget in just three words!
Big. Skinny. Bitch.
If you found yourself being in Bridget's situation, how would you even react?
I’d freak out. After freaking out, I’d be unbelievably embarrassed to watch myself making a fool of myself.
Here Lies Bridget is definitely a Strong and moving novel. What impact did you want this to have on readers?
I wasn’t all that fixated on teaching a lesson. I mostly just shoved this awful girl out into the spotlight and said to her: “You’re just awful, and here’s why.” And from there I just hope people were amused by it, or that maybe they saw themselves in Bridget and realized they should chill out on the whole ‘hurting people’ thing.
How did you feel when you found out Here Lies Bridget was going to made into a movie? I know I was overjoyed! :)
I flipped. But I also am trying not to get my hopes up. I was so excited though. It’s an unreal opportunity.
So, What's next for Paige Harbison?
New Girl, which will be out later this year. It’s a modern take on Daphne du Maurier’s (and Alfred Hitchcock’s) Rebecca. I think my writing has grown since Here Lies Bridget, as is to be expected since it was my debut.

Author Interview- Lauren Kate
I’ve been writing love stories for as long as I’ve been writing. To me, the most complicated romances make the most interesting narratives, so I’m always looking fornew obstacles to throw in my lovers’ paths. When I was getting my masters degree in fiction, I was studying biblical narratives and came across a line in Genesis (6:1-4), which describes a group of angels who fell in love with mortal women. Putting this reference together with a mention in Isaiah and another in Psalm 82, biblical scholarsconclude that these angels were actually cast out of Heaven for their lust. means—you could say—that these angels chose love over Heaven. Isn’t that a great set up for an incredibly complicated romance? I started thinking about what kind of mortal girl it would take to attract an angel’s attention. And what it would be like for her to find herself in this position. What kind of baggage would an angel have? What would her very over-protective parents think? From there, this whole world unfurled in my head with fallen angels, demons, reincarnation, and the war between good and evil all battling
for a piece of the action.
How have you made your books different from other books?
The most compelling thing to me about the Fallen books has to do with the rich history of angelology I drew from to create my own mythology. I spent a long time researching to come up with the world of these fallen angels and I think the story stands out because of all that history flowing through it.
My favorite kinds of stories are the ones with humor and heart that take me on some kind of unexpected journey. I try to write the kinds of books I like to read, so ideally, that would be the way I’d describe my own stories.
Is Fallen, Torment and Passion going to be made into a movie?
The rights have been optioned by Disney and they’re currently working on a final draft of the script. We’re shooting for a release date in 2013.
If you could choose the people played in the movies who would you think would best
suit the role of Daniel, Luce and Cam?
I have never been able to come up with a good Daniel, though I am constantly on the hunt. It’s beginning to feel like my Moby Dick. For Luce, I love Lucy Hale—and for Cam, I love Ed Westwick.
What book are you currently reading?
I’m usually reading several books at once because I like the conversations they have between themselves while sitting around in my mind at the same time. Right now it’s The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall, Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, and an ARC called Harbinger by a new author named Sarah Wilson Etienne, whose book is due out in 2012. So far, all three are wonderful.

What made you write about this particular subject knowing that vampires are somewhat on the hit list right know, proving to be quite a bit of competition?
I know what you mean about the genre. But I was of course a reader first. And I love this genre, but as a reader I could not find a series that interested me anymore. I was so tired of what seemed to be the same story with different characters told over and over again. The modern teenagers, vampires falling in love with humans. The same kind of modern stories, etc. I wanted to read something different! I longed to know more about the long lived vampire characters. I was much more intrigued by their past. What they had done in their long lives. Who had they met, what made them the way they are today? Events in their past had to have influenced their lives of today. That’s what I wanted to read about. When I couldn’t find it. I decided to take on that challenge. Why I thought I could when I had never written anything in my life before I don’t know.In what way did you make The Royal Blood Chronicles different from the rest?
It’s a historical look at not only my characters lives, but the change in the world around them and how the vampire race fits into that world. How they weave vampires into every aspect of it in order to protect themselves from those that would harm them. I picked European Royalty, because of the long live aristocracy already in place there. The safety that the vampires would have naturally had by being royal was a natural fit. I also love the romance of it and the regal aspect of it. The change Katrina and her friends would have to go through. From spoiled young girls, who were waited on hand and foot, who led up to that point the life of leisure. The Chronicles follows them from the romantic, frilly dressed girls to confident vampire warrior women. Those that together discover being joined has brought out vampire gifts that some of them never knew they had and the discovery that having purpose in their life for the first time felt powerful in its self.
Do you relate to any of the characters in the books?
Katrina and the girls are like my own children really. I like them all. The vulnerability and budding confidence of Katrina. The shy, but compassionate El, the sophisticated and sarcastic Rosa and the laid back, easy going Letta. With each book their confidence and personalities reveal themselves more and more. Love interests change as they do with most teenagers just tasting those new feelings for the first time. So much is asked of them I can relate to the fact that they feel overwhelmed at times.
Tell us about the book Cain, the quest! How was it like writting it?
Cain the Quest was a little different from the others in that I was telling a story from not only a new characters point of view, but from a male point of view. That took a little getting used to. I also had to create the world he was in, the Underworld kingdoms of Althar and all that entailed. That was fun. I introduce new characters. Demon Kings, creatures and new friends. The protectors are still involved and there are still twists and turns as well some surprises.
Do you read YA books in general and who do you recommend?
I loved Twilight of course and I love Melissa De la Cruz and her Blue Blood Series. I don’t read as many as I used to because I don’t want to be influenced by what I read.
